I wanted to create a separate entity for some of my other Internet-based business ideas. I figured it might not be a bad idea to have a separate business structure from a liability standpoint too. I had a lot of ideas initially about what I would want to do. This ideas included authority niche websites, drop-shipping, wholesaling, private label, coaching, online courses, podcasts and the list went on. But, after a lot of brainstorming, I finally picked a couple of ideas to get started with.
The first was niche websites. This really appealed to me because I like to build websites using WordPress. The second reason was because it focused on SEO techniques and content marketing. Finally, it could be a passive income using strategies like ads and affiliate links.
The second idea was wholesaling and private label. I did a lot of research but decided to broaden it and work on eCommerce solutions that could have varied sourcing, selling and fulfillment methods.
Sometime during this research, I started looking for available domain names. I can’t remember the brainstorming that lead to the words “dark creek” but needed to add the work “media” to get an available domain name that also didn’t have anything similar on a Google search. So, Dark Creek Media was born with the registering of the domain name.
